Courage

Deep inside hidden too long
Were feelings none of us let go
But we were scared and thought was wrong
To raise our voice and make them known

With shaky hands and cloudy thoughts
You conquered fear and broke the silence
You helped us to connect the dots
And gave our wavery hearts the guidance.

Your courage changed our paths forever
You shook my being to its core
Your words pushed down a rusty lever
Which opened a rusty door

Behind the door were sealed away
The feelings that we never dared
To come to terms, to grow, to say
Simply because we were too scared.

Now as your head rests on my arm,
My fingers going through your hair
I am enthralled by your charm
And smell of jasmine in the air.
