…but you are there

I am here but you are there

Inside is warm, outside there’s rain

Missing you, more than you know

But that’s no surprise, I know.

In my arms I want to hold you

Kiss your lips, your eyes, your nose,

Smiling like a silly kid,

You’re the adult, and I’m the child,

Talk about everything and nothing,

Until we fall asleep,

Holding each other close and tight,

Feeling our bodies in the darkness,

To caress you with whispers and kisses,

To wake up in the morning

With your face so close to mine

Your face covered in the light’s rays

To kiss your closed eyes,

Wake you up with an embrace,

To be mine and mine alone

That is what I dream of

Inside is warm, outside there’s rain

But I am here and you are there…
